“A Leader With Passion”- Elder Geneva Maten
Geneva Maten grew up gaining biblical foundation and deep spiritual roots. God placed her into the position of Pastor of Home Mission Apostolic Church in 1993 which was founded by the late Pastor Josephine Sherriff. Since 1993, Geneva Maten has served as the Senior Pastor of Home Mission Church where she fellowshipped and became involved in the ministry at an early age. She was licensed and ordained by Bishop Sherriff of CA, shortly thereafter.
Pastor Geneva Maten is a passionate leader who believes in teaching the unadulterated Word of God and encourages holy living by reading and mediating on God’s Word. She is an encouraging woman of God who leads with wisdom and grace. Her awesome example of Godly love, integrity, and virtue is an inspiration for all who come in contact with this anointed vessel as she leads, instructs, and ministers in a practical way. Pastor Maten's love of God, the people of God, and the lost, has led her to establish an outreach ministry designed to demonstrate that love. Through her relationship with God, Home Mission continues to grow both spiritually and physically.
Pastor Geneva Maten has been the Senior Pastor of Home Mission Apostolic church for over 19 years along with her sister Asst. Pastor Sadie Williams. The two sisters were born and raised in Scobey, Mississippi (Pastor Maten is the older of the two.) They come from a family of preachers and teachers of God’s word. Their grandfather, Robert Kimble was a minister as well as three of their aunts, including the late Pastor Josephine Kimble Sheriff who was the founder of the Home Mission Apostolic Church. Their parents were the late Ben Willie and Oder Kimble. Ben Kimble was a traveling minister and Oder Kimble was a prophet.
